Ronald C. Ervin, born on August 24, 1957, in Cleveland County, left this world on April 2, 2026, at the age of 68, in the same county that he called home throughout his life. His journey was one marked by a profound love for family, friends, and the simple joys that life had to offer.

Ronald was a man whose passions spoke volumes about the vibrant spirit he carried within him. A car enthusiast to the core, he found joy not only in the mechanics but in the stories each vehicle told. He was a devoted fan of the UNC Tarheels, cheering them on with unwavering support. The golf course was another sanctuary for Ronald, where he found peace and camaraderie amidst the rolling greens.

Music was a constant companion in Ronald's life, providing the soundtrack to countless cherished memories. Above all, he was a family-oriented man, whose selflessness knew no bounds. His love and dedication to those around him were evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Smith, his parents, William Ervin and Dorothy Davidson Ervin, a brother, Kenneth Ervin, Ronald is survived by a large and loving family. His sons, Joshua Ervin and wife Heather, and Jeremy Ervin and wife Shanna, continue to carry forward his legacy. He also leaves behind his stepson, Joshua Smith, and stepdaughter, Candy Lovelace and husband Travis.

Ronald's siblings, Gloria Ervin, Beverly Ervin, Becky Quinn, Tony Ervin, Tim Ervin, Jerry Ervin, and Debbie Hodge, cherish the memories they shared with their brother. His grandchildren, Dixie, Caroline, Jacob, Sarah, Silas, Annalee, Jayda, Emma, Betani, Orline, and Storm, were the light of his life, bringing him immense joy and pride.

A memorial service to honor Ronald's life will be held on Friday, April 10th, at 2 PM at the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 1 PM until 2 PM on the same day.

Ronald C. Ervin's legacy is one of love, kindness, and an enduring spirit that will inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
