Richard "Rick" Allen McMullin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 30, 2025, at his home in Rocky Point, NC, at the age of 72. Born on February 7, 1953, in Cincinnati, OH, Rick lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering zest for living.
Growing up in Cincinnati, Rick demonstrated an early work ethic, starting his first job at the tender age of 14. He could often be found at the Sunoco gas station and garage, pumping gas and performing odd jobs. This industrious spirit carried him through many roles at CTS in Cincinnati before he transferred to the CTS plant in Rocky Point in 1988, where he continued to contribute his skills and dedication.
Rick's gentle demeanor and knack for mediating made him a cherished presence in the lives of those around him. He was a great dad to Amber Murphy and Brian Beish, always offering them calm guidance and unending support.
Rick had a passion for fishing, a hobby that took him on countless adventures. With five fishing licenses in hand, he pursued his love wherever the waters called him, finding peace and exhilaration in equal measure.
In the spring of 2005, at Paul’s Place restaurant, Rick met his love, Margaret. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful relationship, officially beginning on August 19, 2005. Their marriage was one of mutual respect, love, and shared adventures.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Catherine McMullin; his siblings, Mark and Anne McMullin; his sister-in-law, Janet McMullin; and his first wife, Kathy Brittan McMullin.
He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Margaret McMullin; his children, Amber Murphy and Brian Beish; his grandson, Joseph Keys Long, V.; his brother, Kevin McMullin, and sister-in-law, Diane McMullin; his niece Kristy and her husband Troy Williams; grand-niece Olivia Tinsley; grand-nephew Morgan Williams; and nephews Blake and Eric McMullin.
