It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of John T. Studer, who departed this world on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his residence in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Born on November 8, 1957, in Allen County, Ohio, John embraced 68 years filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering passion for life.
John's journey through life was marked by his commitment to both his career and his personal pursuits. Following many years of distinguished service, he retired from UNC Health System in 2019, where he held the position of Senior System Analyst. His career was characterized by diligent work and a steadfast dedication to improving the systems he managed, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Beyond his professional achievements, John was a man of varied interests. He found joy in the pages of a good book, the satisfaction of crafting with his hands through woodworking, and the serenity of hiking amidst nature’s splendor.
John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ray and Ruth Powers Studer; two sisters, Anne Miller and Kathleen Brickner; and one brother, Bill Studer.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 35 1/2 years, Sandy Studer; his brother, Jim Studer and his wife Judy of Jupiter, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced once arrangements have been finalized. This gathering will be an opportunity for all who knew John to come together, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable person he was.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor John's memory are encouraged to make a memorial donation to Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care. Contributions can be sent to 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, North Carolina 28731, or made online at www.fourseasonsfdn.org.
