Wilmington - Diedra Marie Delaney, 57, a cherished daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Orange County, NC on March 21st, 2026. Born in Franklin County, OH, she was the beloved daughter of Julia Delaney and Billy White.
Diedra was the proud owner and operator of Elite Personnel Staffing Agency, where she dedicated over 25 years to helping others find meaningful employment. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for her family and her zest for life.
A true Ohio State football enthusiast, Diedra could often be found cheering on her team with unwavering spirit. She found joy in spending time at the beach, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the ocean, and cherished every moment spent with her family. Her passion for reading and true crime stories was well-known, as was her love for playing softball and listening to music, especially the timeless tunes of the Rolling Stones.
Diedra's generous heart extended beyond her immediate circle, as she volunteered her time with Little Pink Houses of Hope and the Breast Cancer Foundation, offering support and hope to those in need.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Julia Hysell, and her grandmother, Alberta Lyman. Diedra leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter, Whitney Delaney; her mother, Julia Delaney; her father, Billy White; her brother, William Delaney and his wife Melinda; her sisters, Gwendolyn Delaney Landis and her husband Jason, and Kari Delaney. She is also survived by her nephews, Dylan Delaney Padrick, Kyle Delaney, David Landis, Joseph Landis and his wife Amberly, and her great-nephew, Roosevelt Landis.
A private family service will be held at a time and date to be determined. Memorial contributions may be made to the UNC Lineberger/Kathleen Boyd Fund for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research, honoring Diedra's enduring spirit and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Diedra Marie Delaney will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.
