Lawndale - Dan Mitchell Stacey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 24, 2025, in Lawndale, North Carolina, at the age of 70. Born on June 11, 1955, in Brewton, Alabama, to the late Willie E. Stacey, Jr. and Margret Dixon Stacey. Dan lived a life filled with hard work, love, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Dan was known for his skilled hands and strong work ethic, which he demonstrated throughout his distinguished career as a welder and boilermaker. His expertise was sought after across the United States, where he consulted in numerous paper mills and steel factories. Dan’s contributions to his field were marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to craftsmanship.
Outside of his professional life, Dan found joy and fulfillment in life's simple pleasures. He could often be found attending auctions in search of model cars, tending to his yard, or enjoying the serenity of deer watching. He was an avid softball player and a coach. As well as having a love of fishing and a love of Alabama football. His stubborn nature was well known, but it was paired with a deep love for his family and his cherished fur babies, Little Bit and Forrest.
Surviving him are his devoted wife, Deanna Stacey; sons, Michael Stacey and Daniel Formes (Ashley); bonus sons, Michael Banville (Shay) and George Banville (Tabatha), Daughters, Aften (Brandon) Parker and Dana Stacey bonus daughter Tosha Newton; sister, Judy Stacey; brother, Ed Stacey; and eight adoring grandchildren. His cherished fur babies, Little Bit and Forrest, will also remain as gentle reminders of his loving spirit.
Dan’s life was a testament to the power of perseverance, love, and family. While no services will be held at this time, his family invites those who knew him to honor his memory by reflecting on the profound impact he had on their lives. Dan will forever be remembered as a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
