Carl Francis Marlowe, a distinguished veteran and cherished family man, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Shallotte, North Carolina, at the age of 76. Born on November 3, 1948, in Conway, South Carolina, Carl lived a life marked by dedication, bravery, and love for his family and country.

Carl proudly served in the United States Army and the National Guard, where his unwavering commitment earned him numerous commendations. Over his illustrious career, he was honored with the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Combat Infantryman Badge, Oversea Service Bars (2), ARNG Master Recruiter Badge, ARNG Senior Recruiter Badge, ARNG Recruiter Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation, Bronze Star, Rifle Marksman Badge, Army Good Conduct Medal (6), Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Army Achievement Medal (2), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (2), Meritorious Service Medal (2), and Army Service Ribbon.

After retiring from the U.S. Army, Carl embraced the tranquility of fishing, finding peace and joy in this pastime.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emory Isaac Marlowe; mother, Bernice Lewis Marlowe; and son, Perry Jason Gillen.

Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Rebecca Huffman Marlowe, of the home; his sons, Jon Samuel Marlowe (Mary Kate) of Asheboro, and Jeffery Scott Marlowe (Erin) of Lake Waccamaw; and his beloved grandchildren, Ainsley Hope Marlowe, Kara Elise Marlowe, Kailey Madison Marlowe, Payton Leigh Marlowe, and Lucas Scott Marlowe; siblings Harold Marlowe (Brenda) of Thomasville, Gayle Stowe of Archdale, Deloris Childress of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jackie Marlowe of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joyce Moretz (Eugene) of High Point, and Tim Marlowe (Lynda) of Asheboro.

Carl Francis Marlowe's legacy of courage, service, and love leaves a lasting impression on all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and fellow servicemen.
